Ostergaard, Chair ) K.L. Hall, Commissioner ) January 10, 2002 N.F. Nicholls, Commissioner ) O R D E R WHEREAS: A. The Commission, by Order No. G-134-01 dated December 20, 2001, approved a reduction in the BC Gas Utility Ltd. (“BC Gas”) Rate Schedule 3 total variable charge for the Inland service area from $8.812/GJ to $8.200/GJ; and B. On December 21, 2001, Stargas Utilities Ltd. (“Stargas”) applied to decrease the rates charged to its customers by $0.643/GJ, as a result of the $0.612/GJ decrease in the BC Gas Rate Schedule 3 total variable charge, plus Stargas allowance for Lost and Unaccounted for Gas of 5 percent of the change in the BC Gas rate; and C. The Commission has reviewed the application and finds that approval is required. NOW THEREFORE pursuant to Section 61 of the Utilities Commission Act, the Commission orders as follows: 1. The Commission approves for Stargas a reduction of $0.643/GJ in rates for Residential and Commercial customers, effective January 1, 2002. 2. Stargas is to provide its customers with an explanation of the rate decrease by way of a customer notice included in the next bill.
