On March 15, 2002, BC Gas Utility Ltd. (“BC Gas”) filed with the Commission draft Letter Agreements for natural gas storage with Unocal Canada Limited (“Unocal”), at its Aitken Creek natural gas storage facility, and with Puget Sound Energy Inc. (“Puget”), at its Jackson Prairie storage facility (“Jackson Prairie”), for the 2002/03 storage contract year; and B. The draft Letter Agreements set the pricing structure and deliverability for natural gas storage as follows: 1. The Letter Agreement dated March 14, 2002, between Unocal and BC Gas extends the existing Aitken Creek Natural Gas Storage Agreement (Contract # GS-1083) for one year from April 1, 2002 to March 31, 2003. 2. The Letter Agreement dated March 15, 2002, between Puget and BC Gas extends the existing Jackson Prairie Storage Agreement (Contract #GS-4135) for one year from April 1, 2002 to March 31, 2003. C. On March 21, 2002, BC Gas withdrew its filing for acceptance of the draft Letter Agreement with Unocal related to Aitken Creek storage; and D. The Commission has reviewed the BC Gas filing as amended, and finds that the draft Letter Agreement with Puget for natural gas storage is in the public interest. NOW THEREFORE pursuant to Section 71 of the Utilities Commission Act and the Rules for Energy Supply Contracts, the Commission accepts for filing for BC Gas the draft Letter Agreement with Puget dated March 15, 2002 for natural gas storage, subject to timely filing of the fully executed agreement. The Commission accepts BC Gas request to maintain the contract and filing documents as confidential. DATED at the City of Vancouver, in the Province of British Columbia, this 21 st day of March 2002.
