On January 21, 2002, The Corporation of the City of Nelson (“the City”) applied to the Commission for approval of Electrical Utility Amendment By-Law No. 2936, 2002 to increase its electrical rates by 1.75% effective February 1, 2002; and B. The electrical utility rate increase is required due to a 4.5% increase in power purchase costs from UtiliCorp Networks Canada (British Columbia) Ltd., that was approved by Commission Order No. G-133-01; and C. The Commission has reviewed the By-Law, rate schedules and supporting material and finds that an electrical utility rate increase to all customers is required. NOW THEREFORE the Commission orders as follows: 1. The Commission approves and accepts for filing Electrical Utility Amendment By-Law No. 2936, 2002 incorporating a 1.75% rate increase, effective February 1, 2002. 2. The City, by way of a Customer Notice included in the next billing, is to inform customers of the rate increase. 3. The City is to provide the Commission with a final certified copy of the By-Law following all approvals.
