Ostergaard, Chair ) K.L. Hall, Commissioner ) April 17, 2002 CERTIFICATE OF PUBLIC CONVENIENCE AND NECESSITY WHEREAS: A. On March 15, 2002, UtiliCorp Networks Canada (British Columbia) Ltd. (“UNC”) applied to the Commission for a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity for approval to upgrade its Trail District Facilities, pursuant to Sections 45 and 46 of the Utilities Commission Act (“the Act”); and B. The Application states that renovations and upgrades need to be undertaken at the Warfield Complex, consisting of the System Control Centre, the main operations building and the Warfield Garage, and at the Trail Administrative Office building, at an estimated cost of $4.63 million (“the Project”); and C. The Commission has reviewed the Application for the Project and the responses to its staff information request, and finds that it should be approved. NOW THEREFORE pursuant to Section 45 of the Act: 1. The Commission issues a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity to UNC for renovations and upgrades to its Trail District Facilities, at an estimated cost of $4.63 million with an expected completion date of December 31, 2002. 2. UNC is to provide the Commission with a final report and summary of actual costs on completion of the Project.
