On December 19, 2002, The Corporation of the City of Nelson (“the City”) applied to the Commission for approval of Electrical Utility Amendment By-Law No. 2959, 2002 to increase its electrical rates by 1.50 percent effective January 1, 2003; and B. The electrical utility rate increase is required due to a 5.0 percent interim increase in power purchase costs from Aquila Networks Canada (British Columbia) Ltd. that was approved by Commission Order No. G-83-02; and C. Rates charged to customers in the Citys service area outside the City limits are subject to Commission regulation; and D. The Commission has reviewed the By-Law and rate schedules and finds that an electrical utility rate increase is required. NOW THEREFORE the Commission orders as follows: 1. The Commission approves and accepts for filing Electrical Utility Amendment By-Law No. 2959, 2002 incorporating a 1.50 percent rate increase, effective January 1, 2003. 2. The City, by way of a Customer Notice included in the next billing, is to inform customers of the rate increase. 3. The City is to provide the Commission with a final certified copy of the By-Law following all approvals.
