LETTER NO. L-26-06 SIXTH FLOOR, 900 HOWE STREET, BOX 250 ROBERT J. PELLATT VANCOUVER, B.C. CANADA V6Z 2N3 COMMISSION SECRETARY TELEPHONE: (604) 660-4700 Commission.Secretary@bcuc.com BC TOLL FREE: 1-800-663-1385 web site: http://www.bcuc.com FACSIMILE: (604) 660-1102 Log No. 14224, 15046 VIA E-MAIL June 8, 2006 BCH_Integrated Electricity Plan (IEP) Exhibit A-8 TO: British Columbia Hydro and Power Authority Registered Intervenors/Interested Parties Re: British Columbia Hydro and Power Authority (“BC Hydro”) Project Nos. 3698416 and 3698419 And F07/08 Revenue Requirements Application (“F07/08 RRA”) 2006 Integrated Electricity Plan (“IEP”) and Long-Term Acquisition Plan (“LTAP”) The Commission held a Procedural Conference on May 19, 2006 wherein the Commission Panel considered the scheduling for the regulatory review of the two applications from BC Hydro: 2006 IEP and LTAP and the F07/08 RRA. Commission Order No. G-59-06 dated May 24, 2006 established an Amended Regulatory Timetable with a Second Procedural Conference scheduled. BC Hydro, by letter dated June 7, 2006, requests that the date for filing Responses to the 2006 IEP and LTAP IRs (BCUC No. 2 and Intervenor No.1) be made flexible such that BC Hydro would endeavour to file as many responses as practicable on the date set out in Order No. G-59-06 (Friday, June 30, 2006), with the objective of filing most if not all of the remaining IR responses by Wednesday, July 5, 2006. BC Hydro also proposes, as an alternative, that the Commission grant an extension of the IR response deadline from June 30, 2006 to July 5, 2006. According to BC Hydro, this alternative proposal would overcome the confusion that could arise from fragmented records as a result of filing responses to the same set of IRs on different dates. In the same letter dated June 7, 2006, BC Hydro states that assigning the same Exhibit number to both the IR responses filed on June 30, 2006 and the IR responses filed on July 5, 2006 would also be another solution to avoid confusion. The Commission Panel encourages BC Hydro to file as many of the responses to the IRs as is practicable on June 30, 2006, with the remaining on July 5, 2006. BC Hydro should give priority to responding to those IRs on June 30, 2006 that are relevant to the F07/08 RRA. The Panel advises BC Hydro that it should file the first set of responses on June 30 electronically, and file on July 5, 2006 not just the remaining IRs but the entire set, both electronically and in hard copy. The Commission Panel accepts BC Hydros proposal that it is appropriate to assign the same Exhibit number to both the IR responses filed on June 30, 2006 and the IR responses filed on July 5, 2006.
