Milbourne, Commissioner O R D E R WHEREAS: A. On March 9, 2006, FortisBC Inc. (“FortisBC”) applied to the Commission for a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity (“CPCN”) for approval to construct and operate the Big White Supply Project, which involved the construction of a 23 km 138 kV transmission line that is expected to cost $20.32 million; and B. An Oral Public Hearing was held in Kelowna on July 4 and 5, 2006 with the Commission issuing CPCN No. C-17-06 to FortisBC on September 15, 2006; and C. On July 8, 2006, Mr. Alan Wait applied for a cost award for his participation in the proceeding; and D. On August 18, 2006, the British Columbia Public Interest Advocacy Centre (“BCPIAC”) submitted a bill of costs on behalf of the BC Old Age Pensioners’ Organization (“BCOAPO”) for its participation in the proceeding; and E. Commission staff have advised the Panel that the applicants participated in the proceeding and contributed to the public hearing process; and . . ./2
2 F. The Commission has reviewed the applications for cost awards with regard to the criteria and rates set out in Order No. G-15-04. NOW THEREFORE the Commission orders as follows: 1. Pursuant to Section 118(1) of the Utilities Commission Act, the Commission awards funds to the following applicants for their participation in FortisBC’s application for a CPCN for the Big White Supply Project. Applicant Budget Mr. Alan Wait $336.76 BCOAPO/BCPIAC 11,893.40 2. FortisBC is directed to reimburse the above-noted participants for the total amounts awarded in a timely fashion.
