Participant Assistance/Cost Awards Application Regarding
an Application by the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia

for Changes to Universal Compulsory Automobile Insurance for Fleetplan Vehicles

O R D E R

 

WHEREAS:

 

A.      On January 28, 2010, the British Columbia Utilities Commission (the Commission) received an application from the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia (ICBC) requesting changes to Universal Compulsory Automobile Insurance (Basic Insurance) Tariff for Fleetplan Vehicles (the Fleetplan Application); and

 

B.    On February 11, 2010, the Commission issued Order G-20-10, specifying that the Fleetplan Application would be examined via a Written Public Hearing process; and

 

C.    By Order G-115-10, dated July 9, 2010, the Commission approved the Fleetplan Application, with modifications as described in the Reasons for Decision attached to the Order; and

 

D.    The Commission received a Participant Assistance/Cost Award application from the British Columbia Old Age Pensioners' Organization, Active Support Against Poverty, BC Coalition of People with Disabilities, Council of Senior Citizens' Organizations of BC, End Legislated Poverty, Terrace Anti-Poverty Group Society and Tenant Resource and Advisory Centre (BCOAPO), dated May 26, 2010, in the amount of $1,865.85; and

 

E.    A copy of the BCOAPO Participant Assistance application was sent to ICBC for review.  ICBC subsequently advised the Commission (via email) that it had no comments regarding the Participant Assistance application; and

 

G.   The Commission has reviewed the Participant Assistance/Cost Award application, with respect to the criteria and rates set out in Order G-72-07.

 

 

NOW THEREFORE pursuant to section 118(1) of the Utilities Commission Act, the Commission grants BCOAPO a Participant Assistance/Cost Awards in the amount of $1,865.85.  ICBC is directed to reimburse BCOAPO for the awarded amount in a timely manner.
