Application for an Order Approving Rate Schedule 50 – Large Volume Industrial Transportation

O  R  D  E  R

 

WHEREAS:

 

A.      On December 22, 2014, the Province of British Columbia deposited Order in Council No. 749, dated December 19, 2014, which became B.C. Regulation 265/2014, Amendments to Special Direction No. 5 to the British Columbia Utilities Commission (OIC 749);

B.      Section 6 (1) of OIC 749 states as follows:

“Within 60 days of the date this section comes into force, the commission must issue an order setting the transportation rate schedule as a rate for FortisBC Energy Inc., effective on the date the order is issued”;

 

C.      On January 13, 2015, FortisBC Energy Inc. (FEI) applied (the Application) for an order from the Commission, pursuant to Section 6 (1) of OIC 749, to approve Rate Schedule 50; 

D.      FEI provided for Commission endorsement, the original Rate Schedule 50 tariff pages to be effective the date the order is issued;

E.       Pursuant to Rate Schedule 50 – Large Volume Industrial Transportation Tariff, Table of Charges, Section 2.2, the Initial Firm Demand Toll is $0.770 per Gigajoule (GJ). Pursuant to the Table of Charges, Section 2.3, the Initial Demand Toll may be adjusted, if required, forty-five days prior to the first commencement date set out in any transportation agreement entered into under Rate Schedule 50; and

F.       The Commission reviewed OIC 749 and the Application and finds that approval of Rate Schedule 50 is required.

 

NOW THEREFORE the British Columbia Utilities Commission approves effective the date of this order, pursuant to Order in Council 749 and Special Direction 5, Rate Schedule 50 – Large Volume Industrial Transportation and rates contained therein.
