IN THE MATTER OF

and

 

An Application by British Columbia Transmission Corporation

for Approval of a Reliability Management System Termination Agreement

with the Western Electricity Coordinating Council

O  R  D  E  R

WHEREAS:

 

A.    British Columbia Transmission Corporation (BCTC) and the Western Electricity Coordinating Council (WECC) as the successor to the Western Systems Coordination Council entered into a Reliability Criteria Agreement and companion Reliability Management System Agreement; and

 

B.     The Agreements and subsequent amendments were approved by British Columbia Utilities Commission (Commission) Orders G-61-04, G-48-06, and G-70-07; and

 

C.     BCTC and the WECC have executed a termination agreement for the Reliability Criteria Agreement and the Reliability Management System Agreement as amended and BCTC filed this agreement with the Commission for approval on April 23, 2010; and

 

D.    The System Reliability goals of the original Agreements have been subsumed by the implementation of Mandatory Reliability Standards in BC.

 

NOW THEREFORE pursuant to section 23 of the Utilities Commission Act the Commission approves the Termination Agreement for the Reliability Criteria Agreement and the Reliability Management System Agreement between British Columbia Transmission Corporation and the Western Electricity Coordinating Council.
