Dear Ms. Girardi:

Re:  Application to Amend

the Standardized Third Party Verification Call Script

________________Customer Choice Program___________

We are in receipt of your application, pursuant to Commission Order A-11-10 to make amendments to Summitt Energy’s Third Party Verification (TPV) script as follows:  “Included in your natural gas price is Summitt Energy’s Evergreen Program.  This environmental program will offset 2.2 tonnes of greenhouse gases your home produces from the burning of fossil fuels.

The Commission has reviewed the requested amendment and finds that it does not confirm the customer’s understanding of the product offering.  In addition, the second point appears to be a continuation of the sales pitch for the additional product.

In light of this, the Commission does not accept Summitt Energy’s requested amendments and recommends it re-apply with questions, which clearly confirm the customer’s understanding of the points being made and align with the objectives of the standardized TPV script.  For example, per Commission Order A-13-10, we have approved additions to Just Energy’s TPV script under the following format:

“Do you understand and agree to pay an additional ‘PRICE’ for ‘SELECTED UNIT(s)’ of the green option? Y/N

Do you understand that your total Natural Gas Fixed Price rate including your green option price will be ‘TOTAL PRICE’? Y/N

Your total green option charge will be included with your Cost of Gas on your Utility bill.”

Please contact the Commission if you require further clarification on this matter.

                                                                                                                                Yours truly,

                                                                                                                                Erica M. Hamilton
