Report on Market Purchases for the Second Quarter of 2011

O  R  D  E  R

WHEREAS:

 

A.       On August 31, 2011, FortisBC Inc. (FortisBC) filed the Report on Market Purchases for the Second Quarter of 2011 (QMPSR-2011_Q2) pursuant to section 71 of the Utilities Commission Act (Act) and British Columbia Utilities Commission (the Commission) Order E-8-11;

 

B.       On October 26, 2011, FortisBC filed, in accordance with Order E-8-11, a clarification of its proposed market purchase strategy contained in its 2012 Resource Plan as well as minor revisions to the QMPSR-2011_Q2;

 

C.       The Commission has considered the market purchases described in the QMPSR-2011_Q2 and has determined that they are in the public interest.

 

 

NOW THEREFORE pursuant to section 71 of the Utilities Commission Act, the Commission orders as follows:

 

1.       The Commission accepts the market purchases as described in the QMPSR-2011_Q2.

 

2.       FortisBC will continue to file a report, on a quarterly basis, on its energy supply contracts of less than a month in duration, following the proposed Quarterly Market Purchase Summary Report format until the review of the Commission’s Rules for Energy Supply Contracts has been completed.
