Street Lighting Tariff Application

O  R  D  E  R

 

WHEREAS:

 

A.       On April 12, 2011, British Columbia Hydro and Power Authority (BC Hydro) filed an application to the British Columbia Utilities Commission (Commission) under sections 58-61 of the Utilities Commission Act seeking approval to amend certain Tariff schedules and terms and conditions for Rate Schedules (RS) 1702 and RS 1704 (the Application);

 

B.       The Application was reviewed through a written submission process which concluded on May 27, 2011 with the receipt of BC Hydro’s Reply Submission;

 

C.       On July 4, 2011, the Commission issued Order G-115-11 setting out its determination on the Application;

 

D.       On June 8, 2011, the CEC submitted a Participant Assistance/Cost Award (PACA) application for its participation in the proceeding;

 

E.        By letter dated June 24, 2011, BC Hydro commented that it believes the CEC PACA application should be allowed;

 

F.    The Commission has reviewed the CEC PACA application and comment from BC Hydro with regard to the criteria and rates set out in the PACA Guidelines and concluded that PACA funding should be awarded to the CEC in the amount set out in their application.

 

NOW THEREFORE pursuant to section 118(1) of the Utilities Commission Act, the Commission approves the following:

 

1.    A Participant Assistance Cost Award for the Commercial Energy Consumers Association of British Columbia in the amount of $700.00 with respect to its participation in the BC Hydro Street Lighting Tariff proceeding.

 

2.    BC Hydro is directed to reimburse the CEC for the amount awarded in a timely manner.
