for Approval of the Rate Design and Rates Established in Agreements

for Thermal Energy Services for the TELUS Garden Development

O  R  D  E  R

WHEREAS:

 

A.      On October 29, 2014, FortisBC Alternative Energy Services Inc. (FAES) applied to the British Columbia Utilities Commission (Commission) for approval, pursuant to sections 59–61 of the Utilities Commission Act (Act), of the rate design and rates established under three service agreements for customers of the TELUS Garden development (Application);

B.      On November 7, 2014, the Commission issued Order G-172-14 establishing the Regulatory Timetable for review of the Application; and

 

C.      In accordance with Order G-172-14, FAES provided its response to information requests by Commission staff on November 21, 2014 and confirms that if necessary, the approval of interim rates would be required by December 1, 2014 as it expects occupancy of the Office Tower customers at that time.

 

NOW THEREFORE, pursuant to section 89 of the Act, the Commission approves the FortisBC Alternative Energy Services Inc. rates established in the Office Tower service agreements, filed as Appendix A in the Application, for the TELUS Garden development, effective December 1, 2014 on an interim and refundable basis.
