WHEREAS:

A.      By Order G-5-14 dated January 16, 2014, the British Columbia Utilities Commission (Commission) approved an increase in the Gas Cost Recovery Charge (GCR Charge) for Corix Multi Utility Services Inc. (Corix) at Panorama Mountain Resort from $13.622 to $15.922 per gigajoule (GJ), effective February 1, 2014;

B.      On June 12, 2014, Corix filed an application with the Commission to change the GCR Charge for Propane Services at Panorama Mountain Resort, effective July 1, 2014 (Application);

C.      On June 26, 2014, Corix filed a revised application (Revised Application) that replaces the original Application;

D.      In the Revised Application, Corix estimates that the Gas Cost Reconciliation Account (GCRA) has a debit balance of $52,564 as at June 30, 2014;

E.       In the Revised Application, Corix proposes to increase the GCR Charge by $2.687 per GJ from the current GCR Charge to a rate of $18.609 per GJ to adjust for the GCRA debit balance and to reflect current forecasts;

F.       The proposed rate in the Revised Application is equivalent to a $94 per year or 10 percent increase for a typical residential customer based on annual consumption of 35 GJ and a $2,687 per year or 12 percent increase for an average commercial customer based on annual consumption of 1,000 GJ;

G.     In the Revised Application, Corix included a customer notice explaining the rate change effect on a customer’s bill; and

H.      The Commission reviewed the Revised Application and considers that the requested rate change is warranted.

NOW THEREFORE pursuant to section 61(4) of the Utilities Commission Act, the Commission orders as follows:

1.       The requested increase to the Gas Cost Recovery Charge from $15.922 to $18.609 per gigajoule is approved for Corix Multi Utility Services Inc. at Panorama Mountain Resort, effective July 1, 2014.

2.       Corix Multi Utility Services Inc. must notify all customers affected by the rate change.
