WHEREAS:
A. By Order G-87-08, the British Columbia Utilities Commission (Commission) approved an application by Corix Multi-Utility Services Inc. (Corix) to consolidate the Electric Tariffs of Sun Rivers and Sonoma Pines into a single electric tariff that covers both services effective May 1, 2008;
B. Order G-87-08 also approved a Corix request that future rate changes to its Schedule of Standard Charges be amended from time to time in order to be the same as British Columbia Hydro and Power Authority (BC Hydro) subject to Corix filing the changes within ten business days of the effective date of the changes to BC Hydro’s Schedule of Standard Charges;
C. By Order G-48-14 dated March 14, 2014, the Commission approved BC Hydro rate increases of 9 percent and 6 percent, effective April 1, 2014 and April 1, 2015, respectively; and
D. On May 1, 2015, Corix filed updated Electric Tariffs for Sun Rivers and Sonoma Pines for the 6 percent increase approved by Order G-48-14, with an effective date of April 1, 2015, which does not comply with the flow-through rate adjustment mechanism approved by Order G-87-08.
NOW THEREFORE the British Columbia Utilities Commission considers the Corix Multi-Utility Services Inc. (Corix) filing of May 1, 2015 to be an application to amend rates pursuant to sections 61(4) and 61(5) of the Utilities Commission Act and orders as follows:
1. The Corix request to increase its Electric Tariff Rate Schedules for Sun Rivers and Sonoma Pines by 6 percent as set out in the Application is approved on a prospective basis effective June 1, 2015, subject to review by the Commission in the event of a complaint by an affected party within 60 days of the effective date of the amended rates.
2. Corix must provide a bill message to be included with the next monthly billing notifying all customers in Sun Rivers and Sonoma Pines of the increase in rates.
DATED at the City of Vancouver, in the Province of British Columbia, this 19th day of May 2015.
