ORDER
WHEREAS:
A. On March 2, 2016, FortisBC Inc. (FBC) filed with the British Columbia Utilities Commission (Commission) a Request for Extension of the Filing Date of its Long Term Electric Resource Plan (LTERP) to November 30, 2016 (Extension Request). FBC submits that the Extension Request is appropriate given the timelines of reporting initiatives underway including the Conservation Potential Review Report, Long Term Demand Side Management Plan, and the Climate Leadership Plan, all contributing relevant and current information to the LTERP;
B. On June 30, 2011, FBC filed its 2012-2013 Revenue Requirements and Review of 2012 Integrated System Plan, which included the 2012 Long Term Resource Plan, and stated its intention is to file its next long-term resource plan five years from the date of that filing;
C. On August 15, 2012, in the decision accompanying Order G-110-12, the Commission directed FBC to file its next LTERP by no later than June 30, 2016;
D. FBC submits they have discussed the possibility of the Extension Request of the LTERP filing date with its Resource Plan Advisory Group stakeholders and none has expressed any concerns; and
E. The Commission has reviewed the Extension Request and has determined the extension, by variance to the decision accompanying Order G-110-12, is warranted.
NOW THEREFORE pursuant to section 99 of the Utilities Commission Act, the British Columbia Utilities Commission approves FortisBC Inc.’s Request for Extension of the Filing Date of its Long Term Electric Resource Plan to November 30, 2016.
DATED at the City of Vancouver, in the Province of British Columbia, this 31st day of March 2016.
