Application for Approval of a Delivery Rate Increase

ORDER

WHEREAS:

A.       On June 13, 2016, Sun Peaks Utilities Co., Ltd. (SPUCL) filed an application with the British Columbia Utilities Commission (Commission) for approval of an increase of $0.33 per gigajoule in the Gas Delivery Charge effective August 1, 2016, for all Rate Groups (Residential, Small Commercial and Large Commercial) (Application);

B.       The proposed change will have an average annual impact of 1.3 percent increase for small residential customers and a 2.2 percent increase for small and large commercial customers;

C.       On June 30, 2016, the Commission issued Order G-102-16 approving the rate increase on an interim and refundable basis, and established the regulatory timetable for the review of the Application;

D.       On July 12, 2016, SPUCL filed a request with the Commission seeking an extension to the regulatory timetable in order to provide sufficient notice to its customers; and

E.        The Commission has considered the extension request and agrees that adequate public notice is necessary.

NOW THEREFORE the British Columbia Utilities Commission orders as follows:

1.       The Regulatory Timetable is amended as in Appendix A to this order.

2.       Sun Peaks Utilities Co., Ltd. is directed to provide notice of the Application and this order to affected customers by Friday, July 22, 2016.
