ORDER NUMBER

G-78-17

IN THE MATTER OF

the Utilities Commission Act, RSBC 1996, Chapter 473

and

British Columbia Hydro and Power Authority

Supply Chain Applications Project Application

BEFORE:

D. A. Cote, Panel Chair/Commissioner

M. Kresivo, QC, Commissioner

R. I. Mason, Commissioner

on May 18, 2017

ORDER

A.      On December 21, 2016, British Columbia Hydro and Power Authority (BC Hydro) filed its Supply Chain Applications Project Application (Application) and statement of capital expenditures with the British Columbia Utilities Commission (Commission) under section 44.2(1)(b) of the Utilities Commission Act (UCA) requesting acceptance of a portion of the capital expenditures pursuant to section 44.2(3)(a) of the UCA;

B.      On January 13, 2017, the Commission issued Order G-4-17 and established the preliminary regulatory timetable for the review of the Application, which included one round of information requests and a procedural conference;

C.      The procedural conference was held on March 10, 2017 in Vancouver;

D.      On March 15, 2017, the Commission issued Order G-32-17 establishing a revised regulatory timetable, which included a second round of information requests, a process for ABB Enterprise Software (ABB) to submit intervener evidence, an option for BC Hydro to submit rebuttal evidence and a written argument phase;

E.       On May 16, 2017, ABB filed a request for an extension to its May 12, 2017 required filing date for responding to information requests. Later the same day ABB filed its information requests, which were accepted by the Commission;

F.       On May 17, 2017, BC Hydro filed notice that it intends to submit rebuttal evidence and requested an extension of the May 18, 2017 required filing date for rebuttal evidence to May 24, 2017. BC Hydro states that it “expects the scope of its Rebuttal Evidence to be relatively narrow” and suggests there may be no need to adjust the remainder of the regulatory timetable; and

G.      The Commission has considered BC Hydro’s extension request and finds that a revision to the regulatory timetable, modifying the filing date by which BC Hydro must file its rebuttal evidence, is warranted.

NOW THEREFORE the Commission orders that the regulatory timetable for the review of the Supply Chain Applications Project Application is revised as set out in Appendix A to this Order.

DATED at the City of Vancouver, in the Province of British Columbia, this                   18th              day of May 2017.
