ORDER
WHEREAS:
A. On March 30, 2017, FortisBC Energy Inc. (FEI) filed with the British Columbia Utilities Commission (Commission) an application requesting an extension to the filing date of its long term gas resource plan (formerly the long term resource plan) from June 30, 2017 to November 30, 2017 (Extension Request);
B. On March 25, 2014, FEI filed its 2014 long term resource plan and on December 3, 2014, in its decision accompanying Order G-189-14, the Commission directed FEI to file its next long term resource plan on or before June 30, 2017;
C. FEI submits that the Extension Request is appropriate given the delay in the timing of key components including the conservation potential review results that feed into the long term gas resource plan and to allow additional stakeholder input through further public consultations; and
D. The Commission reviewed the Extension Request and has determined the extension, by variance to the decision accompanying Order G-189-14, is warranted.
NOW THEREFORE pursuant to section 77 of the Utilities Commission Act, the British Columbia Utilities Commission approves FortisBC Energy Inc.’s request for extension of the filing date of its long term gas resource plan to November 30, 2017.
DATED at the City of Vancouver, in the Province of British Columbia, this 22nd day of June 2017.
