ORDER

WHEREAS:

 

A.       On October 26, 2017, pursuant to section 71 of the Utilities Commission Act (UCA), FortisBC Energy Inc. (FEI) filed with the British Columbia Utilities Commission (Commission) an executed copy of a Contract Demand Transportation Service Agreement (Agreement) negotiated between FortisBC Huntingdon Inc. (HIPCO) and FEI for the period commencing November 1, 2017 and ending October 31, 2022 (Filing);

B.       By Order G-130-06 dated October 27, 2006, the Commission approved the Rules for Natural Gas Energy Supply Contracts (Rules). The Rules are intended to facilitate the Commission’s review of natural gas energy supply contracts pursuant to section 71 of the UCA;

C.       On June 28, 2017, the Commission accepted the FEI 2017/18 Annual Gas Contracting Plan (ACP) through Letter L-15-17; and

D.       The Commission has reviewed the Filing and is satisfied that the Agreement is consistent with the 2017/18 ACP and is in the public interest.

NOW THEREFORE pursuant to section 71 of the Utilities Commission Act and the Commission’s Rules for Natural Gas Energy Supply Contracts, the Commission accepts the Contract Demand Transportation Service Agreement between FortisBC Huntingdon Inc. and FortisBC Energy Inc. for filing.
