ORDER

WHEREAS:

 

A.      On November 24, 2017, pursuant to section 71 of the Utilities Commission Act, the British Columbia Utilities Commission (Commission) Rules for Natural Gas Energy Supply Contracts, and in compliance with the Commission’s Letter L-26-17A, FortisBC Energy Inc. (FEI) filed with the Commission an executed copy of a Transportation Agreement (Agreement) for a four-year extension of the Northwest Pipeline Company (NWP) capacity release from Northwest Natural Gas Company (NWN) to FEI (Filing);

B.      On June 28, 2017, the Commission accepted the FEI 2017/18 Annual Gas Contracting Plan (ACP) through Letter L-15-17;

C.      On October 20, 2017, the Commission accepted FEI’s request to extend for an additional four years of NWP transportation capacity release from NWN to FEI through Letter L-26-17A;

D.      FEI requests that the Filing and associated documents remain confidential due to their commercially sensitive nature; and

E.       The Commission has reviewed the Filing and is satisfied that the Agreement is consistent with the 2017/18 ACP and is in the public interest.

NOW THEREFORE pursuant to section 71 of the Utilities Commission Act and the Commission’s Rules for Natural Gas Energy Supply Contracts, the Commission accepts for filing the executed Transportation Agreement for a four-year extension of the Northwest Pipeline Company capacity release from Northwest Natural Gas Company to FEI. The Commission will keep the details of FEI’s November 24, 2017 Filing and associated documents confidential as requested by FEI as they contain commercially sensitive information.
