WHEREAS:

A.      FortisBC Energy Inc. (FEI) obtained a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity on August 14, 2006 for the Commodity Unbundling Project for Residential Customers (Customer Choice), in accordance with the government’s 2002 energy policy which allows for the direct sale of natural gas to residential and small volume commercial customers through gas marketing companies, licensed by the British Columbia Utilities Commission (the BCUC);

B.      Article 34 of the Code of Conduct for Gas Marketers allows the BCUC to hold an Annual General Meeting (AGM) to discuss program improvements or enhancements, if warranted;

C.      By letter dated February 28, 2018, FEI submitted Customer Choice program statistics regarding the 2017 calendar year to the BCUC and AGM stakeholders for review;

D.      By letter dated April 23, 2018, the BCUC issued Customer Choice program statistics regarding disputes and complaints filed in 2017 to FEI and other AGM stakeholders for review and requested submissions on whether an AGM regarding the 2017 calendar year is warranted, and if so, proposed issues to be addressed during the AGM;

E.       By May 9, 2018, FEI, Access Gas Services Inc., Bluestream Energy Inc. and Summitt Energy (BC) Limited Partnership all submitted that they have no issues to be addressed and as such, an AGM is not warranted this year; and

F.       The BCUC has reviewed the submissions and considers an AGM regarding the 2017 calendar year is not warranted.

NOW THEREFORE the BCUC orders that no Customer Choice program Annual General Meeting regarding the 2017 calendar year will be established as there are no proposed issues to be addressed.
