Application to Amend Rate Schedules 1823, 1825, 1827 and 1852

Respecting Liquefied Natural Gas Customers

ORDER

WHEREAS:

 

A.      On October 9, 2018, the British Columbia Hydro and Power Authority (BC Hydro) filed an application with the British Columbia Utilities Commission (BCUC) for approval of amendments to Rate Schedules (RS) 1823 - Transmission Service Stepped Rate, 1825 - Transmission Service Time of Use Rate, 1827 Transmission Service - Rate for Exempt Customers and 1852 - Transmission Service Modified Demand (Application);

B.      On October 2, 2018, the Lieutenant Governor in Council approved Order in Council (OIC) No. 512 and the Direction to the BCUC Respecting Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Customers (Direction). Section 3(2) of the Direction requires the BCUC, as soon as practicable, to issue an order so that BC Hydro can amend RS 1823, 1825, 1827 and 1852;

C.      On October 9, 2018, pursuant to Section 3(2) of the Direction, the BCUC issued Order G-192-18 directing BC Hydro to file an application within 30 days of the order with amended tariff pages for RS 1823, 1825, 1827 and 1852 to remove the following provision: “Transmission service, within the meaning of the Direction Respecting Liquefied Natural Gas Customers, may not be provided under this rate schedule”;

D.      In accordance with Order G-192-18, BC Hydro has amended RS 1823, 1825, 1827 and 1852, as set out in Attachment A of the Application;

E.       Terms used in this order have the meanings given to them in the Direction where applicable; and

F.       The BCUC has reviewed and considered the Application in accordance with OIC No. 512.

 

NOW THEREFORE pursuant to OIC No. 512 dated October 2, 2018 and Direction to the BCUC Respecting Liquefied Natural Gas Customers issued under section 3 of the Utilities Commission Act, the BCUC orders that amended Rate Schedules 1823, 1825, 1827 and 1852 are approved as set out in Attachment A of the Application and effective the date of this order.
