Direction to the British Columbia Utilities Commission Respecting the Biomass Energy Program

BC Hydro Application for Approval of Rate Schedule 1828

ORDER

WHEREAS:

 

A.      On April 15, 2019, BC Hydro filed an application requesting a British Columbia Utilities Commission (BCUC) order approving Rate Schedule(RS) 1828 – Transmission Service – Biomass Energy Program, and other Electric Tariff updates resulting from the addition of RS 1828 (Application), filed as Attachment B to the Application;

B.      On April 1, 2019, the B.C. Government issued its Direction to the BCUC Respecting the Biomass Energy Program (Order in Council No. 158, BC Reg. 71/2019) (Direction);

C.      The Direction issued by the Lieutenant Governor in Council defines BCUC’s jurisdiction, the biomass facilities and allows for the recovery in rates of the authority’s costs with respect to a biomass contract; and

D.      In accordance with the Direction, within 10 days of receiving an application from the authority, the BCUC must set as a rate the rate schedule that is attached as Appendix 1 to the Direction.

 

NOW THEREFORE pursuant to sections 58 to 61 of the Utilities Commission Act, and pursuant to the Direction to the BCUC Respecting the Biomass Energy Program, the BCUC orders that RS 1828 and the Electric Tariff updates resulting from the addition of RS 1828, filed as Attachment B to the Application, are approved effective the date of this order.
