BEFORE:

on November 28, 2019

ORDER

WHEREAS:

A.      On November 6, 2019, FortisBC Energy Inc. (FEI) submitted its 2020 Core Market Administration Expense (CMAE) Budget application (Application), requesting the British Columbia Utilities Commission (BCUC) to approve the following, pursuant to section 61(4) of the Utilities Commission Act (UCA):

         Approval of the 2020 CMAE budget of $5,313,000; and

         Approval of the allocation of the 2020 CMAE between the Commodity Cost Reconciliation Account (CCRA) and Midstream Cost Reconciliation Account (MCRA), based on the existing allocation percentages of 30 percent and 70 percent, respectively;

B.      By Order G-79-14, dated June 18, 2014, the BCUC approved the FEI 2014 CMAE budget and determined, among other things, that until such time as FEI files its next revenue requirements application, FEI is directed to submit future CMAE budgets separately to the BCUC at least two weeks prior to the fourth quarter gas cost report to allow sufficient time for the BCUC to review the CMAE budget and to determine if sufficient variances from the previous CMAE budget warranted a more fulsome review;

C.      By Order G-240-18, dated December 13, 2018, the BCUC approved the FEI 2019 CMAE budget; and

D.      The BCUC has reviewed the Application and considers that the approvals requested are warranted.

NOW THEREFORE pursuant to section 61(4) of the UCA, BCUC orders as follows:

1.       The FEI 2020 CMAE budget of $5,313,000 is approved.

2.       The allocation of the 2020 CMAE between the CCRA and MCRA is approved based on the allocation percentages of 30 percent and 70 percent, respectively.

DATED at the City of Vancouver, in the Province of British Columbia, this            28th           day of November 2019.
