ORDER

WHEREAS:

 

A.      On July 22, 2020, FortisBC Inc. (FBC) filed with the British Columbia Utilities Commission (BCUC) an application for approval to revise Section 5.2 (Customer Owned Equipment) of its Electric Tariff General Terms and Conditions (GT&Cs) to correct an error, which FBC states is housekeeping in nature (Application);

B.      On February 25, 2019, the BCUC issued Order G-40-19 and its Decision on FBC’s 2017 Cost of Service Analysis and Rate Design application (2017 RDA) which, among other things, approved FBC’s requested changes to its GT&Cs as well as the removal of Rate Schedules 74, 80, 81, and 82 from the Electric Tariff, as the charges contained therein were moved to the GT&Cs;

C.      In the Application, FBC proposes to remove the second paragraph of Section 5.2 of its GT&Cs, which FBC states was erroneously moved from Rate Schedule 82 to Section 5.2 of its GT&Cs in its 2017 RDA; and

D.      The BCUC has determined the establishment of a public written comment process is warranted for the review of the Application.

 

NOW THEREFORE the BCUC orders as follows:

 

1.       The establishment of a public written comment process in accordance with the Regulatory Timetable, as set out in Appendix A to this order.

2.       FBC is directed, as soon as reasonably possible, but no later than Thursday, August 27, 2020, to:

                                 i.            Provide notice of the Application and a copy of this order to all registered parties in FBC’s 2017 RDA proceeding; and

                               ii.            Provide notice of the Application and a copy of this order to Mission Group Holdings Ltd.

3.       Any stakeholder wishing to provide comments on the Application should provide its submission to the BCUC in writing, with a copy to FBC, by Thursday, September 10, 2020. Letters of comment must be in the Letter of Comment Form available on the BCUC’s website at: https://www.bcuc.com/forms/letter-of-comment.aspx, and submitted by email to commission.secretary@bcuc.com or by mail to the BCUC, Suite 410, 900 Howe Street, Vancouver, BC, V6Z 2N3.
