Re:         Pacific Northern Gas Ltd. – PNG-West and Granisle Service Areas – Second Quarter 2021 Report on Gas Supply Costs

Dear Mr. Otto:

On June 7, 2021, Pacific Northern Gas Ltd. (PNG) filed with the British Columbia Utilities Commission (BCUC) its Second Quarter 2021 Report on Gas Supply Costs and the Gas Cost Variance Account (GCVA) balances, which contained information for its PNG-West and Granisle service areas (Report).

The BCUC notes that Order G-72-21, dated March 11, 2021, approved the current gas commodity rates, GCVA commodity rate rider, the Company Use GCVA rate rider, the Company use gas cost delivery rate, and the Company use gas commodity price for the PNG-West service area and approved the current propane commodity rates and GCVA commodity rate rider for the Granisle service area effective April 1, 2021, respectively.

The BCUC has reviewed the Report within the context of the quarterly gas costs review and rate setting mechanism guidelines pursuant to Letters L-5-01 and L-40-11. The BCUC acknowledges receipt of the Report and accepts PNG’s recommendation that the gas commodity rates and gas cost rate riders for both the PNG-West and Granisle service areas remain unchanged, effective July 1, 2021.

Sincerely,
