ORDER

WHEREAS:

A.      On October 13, 2021, Corix Multi-Utility Services Inc. (Corix) filed an application with the British Columbia Utilities Commission (BCUC) seeking approval to decrease the Gas Cost Recovery (GCR) Charge for Panorama Mountain Village (PMV), effective December 1, 2021 (Application);

B.      By Order G-78-18 dated April 18, 2018, the BCUC approved an increase of the GCR Charge from $9.473 per Gigajoule (GJ) to $11.916/GJ for PMV, effective April 1, 2018;

C.      In the Application, Corix proposes to decrease the GCR Charge by $1.543 /GJ from the current GCR charge of $11.916/GJ to a rate of $10.373/GJ;

D.      Corix estimates that the proposed decrease of the GCR Charge in the Application is equivalent to approximately 7 percent for an average residential customer based on an average annual use of 40 GJs;

E.    Corix requests that Section 2: GCRA Calculation and Attachment I: Gas Cost Recovery Charge Breakdown of this filing be filed on a confidential basis as they include market sensitive information, the disclosure of which could impair Corix’s ability to obtain favourable commercial terms for future propane contracts; and

F.       The BCUC reviewed the Application and determines that approval of the Application is warranted.

NOW THEREFORE pursuant to section 61(4) of the Utilities Commission Act, the BCUC:

1.       Approves the decrease to the GCR Charge from $11.916/GJ to $10.373/GJ, effective December 1, 2021, as requested;

2.       Directs Corix to notify all customers affected by the rate change;

3.       Directs Corix to file revised tariff pages for acceptance by the BCUC within 30 days from the date of issuance of this order; and

4.       Will keep Section 2: GCRA Calculation and Attachment I: Gas Cost Recovery Charge Breakdown of the Application confidential.
