G-360-21

IN THE MATTER OF

the Utilities Commission Act, RSBC 1996, Chapter 473

and

Big White Gas Utility Ltd.

Extension Request Related to Filing the 2020–2021 Annual Report

BEFORE:

B. A. Magnan, Commissioner

on December 7, 2021

ORDER

WHEREAS:

A.      On November 22, 2021, Big White Gas Utility Ltd. (BWGU) filed a request with the British Columbia Utilities Commission (BCUC) to extend the filing date of its 2020–2021 Annual Report to December 30, 2021 (Extension Request);

B.      In the Extension Request BWGU explained that due to new personnel, they require additional time to complete the report;

C.      By Order L-36-94 dated December 15, 1994, the BCUC directed the utilities, under its jurisdiction, to file an Annual Report within four months after the end of the financial year;

D.      On September 21, 2021, BWGU’s lawyers wrote on behalf of BWGU to request an extension to the due date for the compliance filing, from September 30, 2021 to no later than November 30, 2021. The letter explained that BWGU was experiencing delays in filing the Annual Report due in part to COVID-19, and because of IT issues;

E.       On September 22, 2021, the BCUC approved BWGU’s request to extend the date of its compliance filing to November 30, 2021; and

F.       The BCUC has reviewed the Extension Request and considers that an extension to the filing of the
2020–2021 Annual Report is warranted.

NOW THEREFORE pursuant to section 99 of the Utilities Commission Act, the British Columbia Utilities Commission orders as follows:

1.         BWGU’s request for an extension to the filing deadline of the 2020–2021 Annual Report is approved.

2.         BWGU must submit the 2020–2021 Annual Report as specified in Order L-36-94.

DATED at the City of Vancouver, in the Province of British Columbia, this               7th           day of December 2021.
