Request for Extension - Electric Tariff Supplement No. 58

ORDER
WHEREAS:
A. On February 7, 2022, pursuant to sections 58 to 61 of the Utilities Commission Act (UCA) British Columbia Hydro and Power Authority (BC Hydro) filed an application seeking approval of a new version of its Electric Tariff Supplement for service to Richmond Plywood (Richply) and a request to keep the terms of the Tariff Supplement confidential (Application). Within the Application, BC Hydro requests the British Columbia Utilities Commission (BCUC) extend the existing Tariff Supplement 58 (TS 58) (Extension Request);
B. By Order G-63-01, TS 58 between BC Hydro and Richmond Plywood (Agreement) was approved by the BCUC, to be effective for 20 years from July 1, 2001 to June 30, 2021;
C. By Order G-199-21, TS 58 was extended until February 28, 2022;
D. Pursuant to ‘Article 9 – Renewal or Extension’ of TS 58, BC Hydro is seeking an extension of the Agreement until such a time the BCUC completes its review and issues a final determination regarding the Application;
E. Pursuant to ‘Article 13 – Confidentiality’ of TS 58, BC Hydro requests the terms of TS 58 should remain confidential; and
F. The BCUC has reviewed the Extension Request and considers the following directives are warranted.
NOW THEREFORE pursuant to section 58 to 61 of the UCA, the BCUC orders as follows:
1. The Extension Request is approved and the existing TS 58 will continue to be in effect until the BCUC issues its final determination regarding the new TS 58 Application.
2. The BCUC will keep the terms of TS 58 confidential.
