ORDER
WHEREAS:
A. On September 30, 2022, Corix Multi-Utility Services Inc. (Corix) filed an application (Application) with the British Columbia Utilities Commission (BCUC) seeking approval to increase the Gas Cost Recovery (GCR) Charge for Panorama Mountain Village (PMV), effective December 1, 2022;
B. By Order G-324-21 dated November 08, 2021, the BCUC approved a decrease of the GCR Charge from $11.916 per Gigajoule (GJ) to $10.373/GJ for PMV, effective December 1, 2021;
C. In the Application, Corix proposes to increase the GCR Charge by $1.319 /GJ from the current GCR Charge of $10.373/GJ to a rate of $11.692/GJ;
D. Corix estimates that the proposed increase of the GCR Charge in the Application is equivalent to approximately 6.4 percent for an average residential customer based on an average annual use of 40 GJs; and
E. The BCUC reviewed the Application and considers that approval of the Application is warranted.
NOW THEREFORE pursuant to section 61(4) of the Utilities Commission Act, the BCUC orders as follows:
1. The requested increase to the GCR Charge from $10.373/GJ to 11.692/GJ is approved, effective December 1, 2022.
2. Corix must notify all customers affected by the rate change.
3. The BCUC will keep section 2 and Attachment I: Gas Cost Recovery Charge Breakdown of the Application confidential.
4. Corix is directed to file revised tariff pages for acceptance by the BCUC within 30 days from the date of issuance of this order.
