Request to Amend Reporting Deadline to Submit Update on Gas Supply Options

Variance to Order G-265-20

ORDER

WHEREAS:

 

A.      By letter dated February 8, 2023, Pacific Northern Gas Ltd. (PNG-West) and Pacific Northern Gas (N.E.) Ltd. (PNG (NE)) (collectively, PNG), requests that the due date for filing its compliance filing related to British Columbia Utilities Commission (BCUC) Order G-265-20, be amended from December 31, 2022, to March 31, 2023 (Application);

B.      On October 23, 2020, the BCUC issued Order G-265-20 and the accompanying Decision, approving PNG’s 2019 Consolidated Resource Plan. The Order and Decision, among other things, directed PNG to file an update on all gas supply options and an examination of the merits of these options, by December 31, 2022; and

C.      The BCUC has reviewed the Application and determines that a variation of Order G-265-20 is warranted.

NOW THEREFORE pursuant to section 99 of the Utilities Commission Act, the BCUC orders as follows:

 

The Directive contained in the Decision accompanying Order G-265-20 is varied as follows:

1.         The Panel finds that PNG has not fulfilled this directive in Order G-140-14 and directs PNG to file an update on all gas supply options and an examination of the merits of these options by March 31, 2023.
