ORDER

WHEREAS:

 

A.      On April 28, 2023, Boralex Ocean Falls Limited Partnership (Boralex) applied to the British Columbia Utilities Commission (BCUC) for: approval of permanent rates for service to British Columbia Hydro and Power Authority (BC Hydro) covering a five-year test period from January 1, 2023 to December 31, 2027 as outlined in the table below; approval to continue to maintain the capital additions and First Nations relationship building deferral accounts for the test period; and permanent approval of the Participant Assistance/Cost Award funding cost deferral account (Application);

B.      By Order G-342-22 dated November 28, 2022, the BCUC approved Boralex’s existing rates on an interim and refundable basis, effective January 1, 2023;

C.      By Order G-130-23 dated June 6, 2023, the BCUC established the regulatory timetable, which included, among other things, one round of BCUC and intervener information requests (IR No. 1);

D.      By letter dated August 9, 2023, Boralex requested an extension to the filing date for its responses to IR No. 1 from August 15, 2023 to August 25, 2023, due to summer vacation absences and work commitments of various key personnel involved in preparing and reviewing the responses; and

E.       The BCUC has considered Boralex’s extension request and determines that an amendment to the regulatory timetable for the review of the Application is warranted.

NOW THEREFORE the BCUC amends the regulatory timetable as set out in Appendix A to this order.
