WHEREAS:
A. By letter dated August 16, 2023, Wyse Meter Solutions Inc. (Wyse) requests that the filing date for the application seeking all required regulatory approvals for its rates, electric tariff, general terms and conditions and operating system required under British Columbia Utilities Commission (BCUC) Order G-168-23, be amended from within 60 days of the date of the order to November 30, 2023 (Application);
B. On June 28, 2023, the BCUC issued Order G-168-23 establishing Wyse as a public utility as defined in section 1 of the Utilities Commission Act (UCA) and subject to regulation by the BCUC. Directive 2 of the Order directs Wyse to file an application seeking all required regulatory approvals for its rates, electric tariff, general terms and conditions and operating system within sixty (60) days of the order;
C. In its letter dated August 16, 2023, Wyse states it is presently undergoing a significant company-wide undertaking to replace its billing platform in order to ensure that all its billing data is retained in Canada. Wyse states that this major initiative is taking up significant resources of Wyse staff, which are also essential to the completion of the application required under Order G-168-23; and
D. The BCUC has reviewed the Application and determines that an amendment to the filing deadline for the application is warranted.
NOW THEREFORE pursuant to section 99 of the UCA, the BCUC orders that Directive 2 of Order G-168-23 is varied as follows:
Wyse is directed to file with the BCUC an application seeking all required regulatory approvals for its rates, electric tariff, general terms and conditions and operating system by November 30, 2023.
