ORDER

WHEREAS:

A.      On February 29, 2024, pursuant to sections 41, 45 and 46 of the Utilities Commission Act (UCA), FortisBC Inc. (FBC) filed an application with the British Columbia Utilities Commission (BCUC) for a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity (CPCN) for the Fruitvale (FRU) Substation Project (Project) (Application);

B.       The Project includes construction of a new FRU substation with two new 20 MVA transformers, and the subsequent decommissioning and demolition of the existing FRU and Hearns (HER) substations. Both the existing FRU substation and the new FRU substation are at different sites in the village of Fruitvale, BC. The HER substation is in the community of Park Siding, BC;

C.       By Order G-97-24, dated March 28, 2024, the BCUC established the regulatory timetable for the review of the Application, which included one round of information requests (IR) to FBC from the BCUC and interveners;

D.      On May 23, 2024, FBC filed its responses to BCUC and Intervener IR No. 1; and

E.       The BCUC has reviewed the IR responses and considers establishing a further regulatory timetable is warranted.

NOW THEREFORE the BCUC establishes a further regulatory timetable as set out in Appendix A to this order.
