ORDER

WHEREAS:

 

A.      On April 30, 2024, by Order C-2-24 and pursuant to sections 45 and 46 of the Utilities Commission Act (UCA), the British Columbia Utilities Commission (BCUC) granted British Columbia Hydro and Power Authority
(BC Hydro) a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity (CPCN) for the construction and operation of the following four electric vehicle (EV) charging stations that are outside of BC Hydro’s integrated area and non-integrated areas in northern BC, at the following locations: Tetsa River Lodge in Northern Rockies, BC; Liard Hot Springs Lodge in Northern Rockies, BC; Bell 2 Lodge in Kitimat-Stikine A, BC; and Buffalo Inn in Pink Mountain, BC;

B.      On June 26, 2024, BC Hydro filed an application for a CPCN, pursuant to sections 45 and 46 of the UCA, for a fifth EV charging station that is outside of BC Hydro’s integrated area and non-integrated areas located at Daylu Fuels in Lower Post, BC (Application); and

C.      The BCUC determines establishing a regulatory timetable for the review of the Application is warranted.

 

NOW THEREFORE the BCUC orders as follows:

 

1.       A written public hearing is established for the review of the Application in accordance with the regulatory timetable set out in Appendix A to this order.

2.       BC Hydro is directed to provide a copy of this order and the Application to parties in the BC Hydro Public Electric Vehicle Charging Service Rates proceeding and to local First Nation communities by Thursday,
July 11, 2024.

3.       Parties may submit letters of comment by completing a Letter of Comment Form by Thursday, July 18, 2024.
