Filing Deadlines for Performance Measures and Road Safety Reports

ORDER

WHEREAS:

 

A.      On June 25, 2024, the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia (ICBC) filed a letter with the British Columbia Utilities Commission (BCUC), requesting to amend the filing deadlines for its Performance Measures and Road Safety reports that are due on August 31, 2024 and December 15, 2024, respectively (Application);

B.      By Letter L-10-16 dated May 11, 2016, among other matters, the BCUC accepted ICBC’s proposal to file its performance statistics as part of ICBC’s annual revenue requirements applications (RRA). In the event that ICBC is not required to file RRAs annually, ICBC is to file its performance statistics on or before August 31 each year;

C.      By Order G-266-23 and accompanying Decision dated October 11, 2023, among other matters, ICBC was directed to file its next Performance Measures Report on or before December 15, 2023 and its Road Safety Report on or before December 15, 2024;

D.      On December 15, 2023, ICBC filed its Performance Measures report in compliance with Order G-266-23;

E.       On May 23, 2024, pursuant to Lieutenant Governor in Council approved Order in Council No. 241/24, the BCUC issued Order G-147-24, ordering that ICBC is exempt from the requirement to apply for a general rate change order by December 15, 2024;

F.       In the Application, for regulatory efficiency, consistency and administrative ease, ICBC proposes that the Performance Measures report be filed on December 13, 2024 instead of August 31, 2024 and the Road Safety report be filed on December 15, 2025 instead of December 15, 2024; and

G.      The BCUC has reviewed the Application and determines that an amendment to the filing deadlines for the Performance Measures and Road Safety reports is warranted.

 

NOW THEREFORE pursuant to section 23(1)(f) of the UCA, the BCUC orders as follows:

 

1.       ICBC is directed to file its Performance Measures report by December 13, 2024; and

 

2.       ICBC is directed to file its Road Safety report on or before December 15, 2025.
