Re:          Pacific Northern Gas Ltd. and Pacific Northern Gas (N.E.) Ltd.

2024 Third Quarter Gas Supply Costs for PNG-West, Granisle Propane, Fort St. John/Dawson Creek and Tumbler Ridge Service Areas

Dear Mr. Otto:

On September 9, 2024, Pacific Northern Gas Ltd. and Pacific Northern Gas (N.E.) Ltd. (PNG(NE)) (collectively, PNG) filed with the British Columbia Utilities Commission (BCUC) its 2024 Third Quarter Gas Supply Costs Report (Report), which includes no commodity rate change recommendations for each of the four service areas PNG serves, identified as the PNG-West, Granisle Propane and PNG(NE) Fort St. John/Dawson Creek and Tumbler Ridge service areas.

The BCUC notes that Orders G-346-23 and G-347-23 dated December 14, 2023, approved the current gas commodity rates, Gas Cost Variance Account (GCVA) commodity rate rider, Company Use GCVA rate rider, Company Use gas cost delivery rate and Company Use gas commodity price for the PNG-West, Granisle Propane and PNG(NE) Fort St. John/Dawson Creek and Tumbler Ridge service areas effective January 1, 2024. By Letter L-16-24, the BCUC accepted PNG’s recommendation to retain the above-noted rates and rate riders effective July 1, 2024.

The BCUC has reviewed the Report within the context of the quarterly gas costs review and rate-setting mechanism guidelines pursuant to Letters L-5-01 and L-40-11. The BCUC acknowledges receipt of the Report and accepts PNG’s recommendation that the gas commodity rates and gas cost rate riders for PNG-West, Granisle Propane and PNG(NE) Fort St. John/Dawson Creek and Tumbler Ridge service areas remain unchanged, effective October 1, 2024.

Sincerely,
