ORDER

WHEREAS:

 

A.      On February 29, 2024, Corix Burnaby Mountain DE Limited Partnership (Corix) applied to the British Columbia Utilities Commission (BCUC), pursuant to sections 59 to 61 and 89 of the Utilities Commission Act (UCA), for approval of its Burnaby Mountain District Energy Utility (BMDEU) revenue requirements and rates for 2024 and 2025 (Application);

B.      Corix requests the following rate approvals for BMDEU, effective March 1, 2024 and January 1, 2025, among other matters:

         i.            For the UniverCity customer group, a monthly Basic Charge of $1.3672 per square metre (m²) and $1.4903 per m², effective March 1, 2024 and January 1, 2025, respectively;

       ii.            For the Simon Fraser University (SFU) customer group, Capacity, Consumption and Availability charges as set out below:

C.      By Order G-76-24, the BCUC approved Corix’s request to set rates effective March 1, 2024, on an interim and refundable or recoverable basis;

D.      By Orders G-76-24 and G-173-24, the BCUC established and amended regulatory timetables for the review of the Application, which included, among other matters, public notice and a deadline for letters of comment;

E.       By Order G-308-24, the BCUC reopened the evidentiary record and established a regulatory timetable to accommodate the issuance of Panel information request No. 1, seeking clarification on the SFU Capacity charge, and to provide SFU and Corix the opportunity to file supplementary written arguments;

F.       On November 26, 2024, the BCUC received a submission regarding public notice. The BCUC considered the submission and accepted it as a late letter of comment; and

G.      The BCUC considers that an amendment to the regulatory timetable is warranted to allow Corix to provide a response to the letter of comment.

 

NOW THEREFORE the BCUC establishes an amended regulatory timetable, as set out in Appendix A to this order.
