Participant Cost Award Application

ORDER

WHEREAS:

A.      On June 28, 2024, Pacific Northern Gas Ltd. and Pacific Northern Gas (N.E.) Ltd. (together, PNG) filed an application (Application) for acceptance by the British Columbia Utilities Commission (BCUC) of PNG’s 2024 Consolidated Resource Plan (2024 CRP) pursuant to section 44.1 of the Utilities Commission Act (UCA);

B.      The regulatory process for the review of PNG’s 2024 CRP included filing of an evidentiary update, intervener registration, one round of BCUC and intervener information requests (IRs), letters of comment and final and reply arguments;

C.      British Columbia Sustainable Energy Association (BCSEA), BC Old Age Pensioners Organization (BCOAPO) and Residential Consumer Intervener Association (RCIA) registered as interveners in the proceeding;

D.      By Order G-55-25 dated March 3, 2025, the BCUC accepted PNG’s 2024 CRP in its entirety, as updated on August 23, 2024, and varied the directive on page 36 of the Decision accompanying Order G-265-20;

E.       The following participants filed Participant Cost Award (PCA) applications with the BCUC with respect to their participation in the proceeding:

F.       By letter dated March 24, 2025, PNG provided its comments on the PCA applications, stating that it has no additional comments on any of the PCA applications, provided that the BCUC is satisfied with the applied for amounts; and

G.      The BCUC has reviewed the PCA applications in accordance with the criteria and rates set out in the Rules of Practice and Procedure and determines that the PCA applications should be approved.

NOW THEREFORE pursuant to section 118 of the Utilities Commission Act, the BCUC orders as follows:

1.       Costs are awarded to the following participants in the listed amounts for their participation in the PNG 2024 CRP proceeding:

2.       PNG is directed to reimburse the above-noted participants for the awarded amounts in a timely manner.
