ORDER

WHEREAS:

 

A.      On February 12, 2025, British Columbia Hydro and Power Authority (BC Hydro) filed an application (Application) with the British Columbia Utilities Commission (BCUC) pursuant to section 71 of the Utilities Commission Act (UCA) for acceptance of ten electricity purchase agreements (EPAs) with the successful proponents of BC Hydro’s 2024 call to acquire clean or renewable electricity from greenfield generating facilities in British Columbia;

B.      By Orders G-51-25 and G-72-25 dated February 26, 2025, and March 19, 2025, respectively, the BCUC established and amended the regulatory timetable for review of the Application, which included, among other things, one round of BCUC information requests (IRs), letters of comment, responses to letters of comment and final argument;

C.      On May 1, 2025, the BCUC received a letter of comment from K'ómoks First Nation (K'ómoks), in which K'ómoks, among other things, notes its intention to request access to materials filed confidentially by BC Hydro and requests that the BCUC consider providing K'ómoks with reasonable time to review the unredacted documents and information;

D.      On May 6, 2025, K'ómoks filed a Confidentiality Declaration and Undertaking Form with the BCUC, requesting access to certain IR responses which BC Hydro provided on a confidential basis (Access Request);

E.       The BCUC has reviewed the submissions to date and determines that an amended regulatory timetable is warranted.

 

NOW THEREFORE the BCUC orders that the regulatory timetable is amended, as set out in Appendix A to this order.
