ORDER

 

WHEREAS:

 

A.      On March 28, 2025, British Columbia Hydro and Power Authority (BC Hydro) filed an application (Application) with the British Columbia Utilities Commission (BCUC), pursuant to section 71 of the Utilities Commission Act, to accept for filing an Electricity Purchase Agreement renewal for the Marion 3 Creek Hydroelectric project effective January 30, 2025, for a term of 20 years;

B.      By Order G-104-25 dated April 23, 2025, the BCUC established a regulatory timetable for review of the Application which included, among other things, a June 5, 2025 deadline for letters of comment, and a June 19, 2025 deadline for BC Hydro responses to letters of comment (if any) and final argument;

C.      By letter dated June 5, 2025, the Tla-o-qui-aht First Nation (TFN) filed a letter of comment in the proceeding;

D.      By letter dated June 13, 2025, BC Hydro requests that the regulatory timetable be amended to allow BC Hydro to file its response to the TFN letter of comment and final argument by June 27, 2025. BC Hydro explains that it is requesting the extension due to delays in BC Hydro receiving a copy of the letter of comment as well as the length of TFN’s submission; and

E.       The BCUC has reviewed the request and finds that an amendment to the regulatory timetable is warranted.

 

NOW THEREFORE the BCUC orders that the regulatory timetable is amended, as set out in Appendix A to this order.
