ORDER
WHEREAS:
A. On August 5, 2025, on behalf of Resort Gas Ltd. (Resort Gas), Sun Peaks Mountain Resort Municipality filed with the British Columbia Utilities Commission (BCUC) a Gas Cost Reconciliation Account (GCRA) report (Filing), which includes actual and projected GCRA balances, and a request for approval of a $1.90 increase in the Total Gas Commodity Charge from $17.13/GJ to $19.03/GJ, effective October 1, 2025;
B. Resort Gas’s requested increase to the Total Gas Commodity Charge is comprised of the following changes to its Gas Commodity Charges for each rate group (Residential, Small Commercial and Large Commercial), effective October 1, 2025:
i. An increase in the Gas Commodity Charge – Propane of $1.45/GJ from $15.40/GJ to $16.85/GJ;GJ;
ii. An increase in the Gas Commodity Charge – Storage of $0.45/GJ from $1.73/GJ to $2.18/GJ; and
iii. No change in the Gas Commodity Charge – GCRA of $0/GJ from $0/GJ to $0/GJ;
C. By Order G-246-24 dated September 19, 2024, the BCUC set Resort Gas’ commodity rates as follows for each rate group (Residential, Small Commercial, and Large Commercial), effective October 1, 2024:

D. The BCUC has completed its review of the Filing and considers that the following determinations are warranted.
NOW THEREFORE pursuant to sections 58 to 61 of the Utilities Commission Act, the BCUC orders the following:
1. Resort Gas’s commodity rates are set as follows for each rate group (Residential, Small Commercial, and Large Commercial), effective October 1, 2025:

2. The revised tariff page, as filed on August 5, 2025, is accepted for filing.
3. Resort Gas is directed to inform its customers of the approved rates, within 30 days of the issuance of this order, by way of a customer notice.
4. Resort Gas is directed to file a GCRA report with the BCUC by June 30, 2026, on the GCRA balance, including but not limited to propane price forecasts, commodity cost forecasts and GCRA balances for the following twelve months and, if necessary, proposed changes to commodity rates.
