ORDER

WHEREAS:

 

A.      On December 12, 2025, Big White Gas Utility Ltd. (BWGU) filed with the British Columbia Utilities Commission (BCUC) an annual contracting plan (ACP) pursuant to BCUC Order E-26-21, and an application for approval of a new Fuel Supply and Equipment Agreement (FSEA) with Superior Propane Ltd. (Superior) for propane supply to Big White Ski Resort for the five-year period commencing January 1, 2026, pursuant to section 71 of the Utilities Commission Act (UCA) (Filing);

B.      By Order G-130-06 dated October 27, 2006, the BCUC approved the Rules for Natural Gas Energy Supply Contracts (Rules). The Rules are intended to facilitate the BCUC’s review of natural gas energy supply contracts pursuant to section 71 of the UCA;

C.      By Order E-26-21, the BCUC directed BWGU to file an ACP in accordance with the Rules no later than January 1, 2026, or within 90 days if the FSEA that commenced August 4, 2021 is terminated, or prior to entering into any significant gas supply arrangements;

D.      BWGU requests the Filing remain confidential due to its commercially sensitive nature; and

E.       The BCUC has reviewed the Filing and finds the following determinations are warranted.

NOW THEREFORE pursuant to section 71 of the UCA and the Rules, the BCUC orders as follows:

 

1.       The BWGU ACP is accepted as filed.

2.       The FSEA between BWGU and Superior for the five-year period commencing January 1, 2026 is accepted as filed.

3.       The Filing, except for the cover letter and the Executive Summary, will be kept confidential unless the BCUC orders otherwise.

4.       BWGU is directed to file an ACP in accordance with the Rules no later than September 1, 2030, or within 90 days if the FSEA is terminated, or prior to BWGU entering into any significant gas supply arrangements.
