ORDER

WHEREAS:

 

A.      On January 22, 2026, pursuant to section 71 of the Utilities Commission Act (UCA), FortisBC Energy Inc. (FEI) filed with the British Columbia Utilities Commission (BCUC) the Mist Storage (Mist) Agreement E executed on January 16, 2026, between Northwest Natural Gas Company and FEI for the period April 1, 2026, to April 30, 2027 (Filing);

B.      By Order G-130-06 dated October 27, 2006, the BCUC approved Rules for Natural Gas Energy Supply Contracts (Rules). Appendix A of Order G-130-06 contains the Rules, which are intended to facilitate the BCUC’s review of natural gas energy supply contracts, pursuant to section 71 of the UCA;

C.      By Letter L-7-25 dated May 29, 2025, the BCUC accepted FEI’s 2025/2026 Annual Contracting Plan (2025/2026 ACP). In the 2025/2026 ACP, FEI recommended renewing the Mist Agreement E that is scheduled to expire on March 31, 2026;

D.      FEI requests that the Filing remain confidential due to its commercially sensitive nature; and

E.       The BCUC has reviewed the Filing and considers the following determinations are warranted.

 

NOW THEREFORE pursuant to section 71 of the UCA and the Rules, the BCUC orders as follows:

 

1.       The Mist Agreement E between Northwest Natural Gas Company and FEI is accepted as filed.

2.       The Filing will be kept confidential unless the BCUC determines otherwise.
