ORDER

WHEREAS:

 

A.      On November 28, 2025, Corix Burnaby Mountain DE Limited Partnership (Corix) applied to the British Columbia Utilities Commission (BCUC), pursuant to sections 59 to 61 of the Utilities Commission Act (UCA), for approval of its Burnaby Mountain District Energy Utility (BMDEU) revenue requirements and rates for 2026 and 2027 (Application);

B.      By Orders G-297-25 and G-46-26, the BCUC established a regulatory timetable for the review of the Application;

C.      On March 19, 2026, Corix filed an evidentiary update with its responses to Information Request (IR) No. 1; and

D.      The BCUC finds that the following determinations are warranted.

 

NOW THEREFORE the BCUC orders as follows:

 

1.       The regulatory timetable is amended as set out in Appendix A to this order.

2.       Corix is directed to post the revised Public Notice attached as Appendix B to this order on its website and existing social media platforms by Wednesday, April 15, 2026.

3.       Corix is directed to provide the BCUC confirmation of compliance with Directive 2 by Monday, April 20, 2026, including a list of social media platforms on which the revised Public Notice was posted.

4.       Corix is directed to post the revised Public Notice attached as Appendix B to this order on its existing social media platforms on a monthly basis during the first week of each month, until the conclusion of the letters of comment period.

5.       Corix is directed to provide the BCUC confirmation of compliance with Directive 4 in accordance with the regulatory timetable.

6.       The scope of IR No. 2 is limited to matters related to: (i) Corix’s responses to IR No. 1; and (ii) the evidentiary update filed on March 19, 2026.

Burnaby Mountain District Energy Utility 2026 to 2027 Revenue Requirements and Rates

The BCUC has approved Corix’s proposed 2026 rates above on an interim and refundable/recoverable basis, effective January 1, 2026. The BCUC has started a public proceeding to review Corix’s application and will make a decision on permanent rates, among other items.
